Atteridgeville

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God

John 1:12

Having been in and out of Atteridgeville for so various reasons such as Volunteering at the local Hospital Kalaphong during the nurses strike way back when to being in a car chase with my father going after our Khombi (Van). Atteridgeville and I have had our ups and down, to say the least.

This was the first time joining Hylton and the team from Kingdom revealed. The plan was also for me to be baptized. We were joining a youth Church Camp that was organized through the local church in Atteridgeville. Children of all ages attend the camp from all around South Africa and Tanzania. I wasn’t 100% sure what we were going to be doing besides the baptism.

Upon Arriving at the Church, I was introduced to the amazing people running the camp and spent a brief time chatting with the kids while setting up the sound and music equipment. Seeing how much the equipment had been used was oddly satisfying and seeing probably the youngest drummer I have ever seen perform live (6 Years old) playing his heart for the congregation. When we got there Hylton asked me to share my testimony. I was extremely nervous as I hadn’t spoken in front of a crowd in years let alone a congregation about my life. This was going to be a tricky one for me as I never really tell anyone about my past and how it has been growing up. (Full testimony at the bottom).

Before I knew it, it was time to go up with the rest of the mission team to share our testimonies. I still didn’t really know what I was going to say when I was walking up as I was told to share my encounter with Milda Bam and her husband but that didn’t feel like it was enough for me. So, as I stood there I prayed for guidance to fill my mouth with words that would help people in the congregation. The holy spirt really did show up and help guide me through my testimony making it feel like a breeze and before I knew it I was done.

It was now time for baptism which included myself. I hadn’t been so excited about something for a while and really felt this was the start of a new chapter in my life. We as Kingdom revealed baptized around 15 people who gave their lives to Jesus. It was then time to head home again and return tomorrow for another church service around lunchtime.  Today was such a spiritual awakening for me just being able to chat with other individuals in leadership in churches around South Africa and just being able to dance and worship throughout the day brought joy to my heart. Thank you for such an incredible experience
